We're expanding our team and looking for a skilled and motivated Blocklayer to join us.
The Role
GreenSideUp Landscapes is seeking an experienced Blocklayer to join our construction team, bringing structural and feature walling expertise to our large-scale residential projects across Brisbane and the South-East Queensland region.
You'll work across rendered feature walls, masonry retaining systems, garden walling, planter boxes and structural blockwork - often on projects where the walling is as much a design feature as it is structural. Outside of your trade specialty, you'll contribute as an active member of the broader construction crew, delivering large-scale hard and softscape projects from start to finish. It's varied, physical, satisfying work - on sites that produce results genuinely worth photographing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lay concrete block, besser block and masonry units to a high standard across feature walls, garden structures, planter boxes and structural elements
- Set-out, level and construct plumb, straight and structurally sound walling systems
- Work from plans and set-out drawings, liaising with the Foreman on sequencing and build order
- Mix, apply and finish mortar joints to match design specifications
- Contribute actively to large-scale hard and softscape landscape construction projects alongside the crew
- Maintain safe, clean and compliant work practices at all times
About You
You lay straight, work clean and take pride in your trade. You're comfortable being part of a crew that moves across all aspects of a project, and you want to work on jobs that genuinely reflect your standard.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated blocklaying / bricklaying experience in a construction environment
- Ability to read and work from plans
- High attention to line, level and finish quality
- Reliable, hard-working and team-focused
- White Card
- Current driver's licence and work-appropriate vehicle
- Australian work rights required
Highly Regarded
- Formal trade qualification in Bricklaying / Blocklaying
- Experience in residential or landscaping environments
- Experience with feature stone, sandstone or besser block walling
- Rendering experience (pairs very well with this role)
